How can we work together to create a clean, sustainable future for our County?
Human activities have increased carbon-dioxide emissions, driving up temperatures.
Extreme weather and melting polar ice are among the possible effects. The world is getting warmer. More extreme weather has a serious impact on human populations.
While an area larger than Belgium burned in the recent Australian bush fires during an extended drought, rainfall increases elsewhere leading to widespread and more repetitive flooding events. Sea levels will rise as much as 2.3 feet by 2050 due to melting glaciers.
Plant and animal extinctions are happening more rapidly – not natural evolution but human-made.
What can we do?
It is vital that we mitigate and prevent further climate change impacts. All our actions within the county add up and make a difference. We must start here, where we can affect most change. NOW
